CLAAS is a leading manufacturer of farming equipment with a global presence. Products are manufactured in five German plants and a further four plants outside Germany.
One in three combine harvesters sold in Europe comes form CLAAS. The second most important product group is the self propelled forage harvester, and CLAAS is world market leader in this business.
The product range also includes square balers, round balers and conventional high-density balers, as well as green harvest machinery and modern system carrier vehicles.
Alongside the products for farming CLAAS also produce hydraulic components and transmissions. Additionally the company concentrates on supply of manufacturing technology for use in the company's own facilities and world renowned customers in the automotive, appliance and aeronautic industries.
The company, which was established in 1913 by August Claas, has experienced an unprecedented growth phase in the last few years.
Turnover of 500 million Euro in the early nineties rose to over 1,000 million Euro in the last financial year.
