Nestle company

Nestle, the world's leading food company, first exported products to Russia in the early 20th century. In 1995, the company returned to Russia. Nestle Food LLC was established in 1996 as a local operating company with its own sales force and marketing organization supporting the company's brand and market development efforts in Russia. The company has grown quickly and today it is the second largest food and beverage manufacturer in Russia, with twelve manufacturing facilities and employing approximately 5,500 people nationwide. Nestle has followed a strategy of local manufacture of a wide range of both international brands, and local brands made to satisfy Russian consumer tastes. Nestle arrived in Krasnodar in 1998 with a brown-field acquisition; this year, Nestle announced plans to construct its first green-field factory, a $120 million Nescafe factory, which will be located in Timashevsk. As of end 2002, $250 million has been invested to upgrade and modernize the factories and add the manufacture of other product categories locally. Nestle has also been an active corporate citizen, with significant on-going commitments to the arts and to the well-being and education of Russian children.
