Dear participants and guests of the Forum!
I am happy to greet you heartily at the Third International Economic Forum «Kuban-2004» which aim is to unite regional enterprises and investors' forces to solve contemporary tasks of the Russian economy.
Russian Federation government, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation supported us and paid great attention to our Forum organization.
Krasnodar Region is getting more and more important strategic significance for the Russian economy due to its natural and climatic conditions, highly developed agriculture, recreational, scientific and technical potential, raw materials-rich resources, direct excesses to international sea routs through eight ports.
Kuban is called «Southern Gates of Russia» quite reasonably. The Region is located in between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and on the crossing transportation routes from Russia to Europe, countries of Central Asia, Near and Middle East, Mediterranean countries. Picturesque coast lines of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and mild Mediterranean climate created excellent conditions for world class resorts foundation.
Economic potential basis of Krasnodar Region are agro-industrial and energy sectors. Processing enterprises comprise major part of industrial production.
Krasnodar Region Administration created favorable economic and legislative climate for national and foreign investors. Legal basis for investment activity has been recognized as the best one in Russia. As it had been estimated by investment agencies, Krasnodar Region is one of the Russian top ten regions having the most attractive investment conditions. Stable political situation and high living standards create a business card of Kuban.
At present we are the witnesses of significant changes in Russia and in Kuban area, in particularly. Kuban economy has been recognized as a market one and that is the best confirmation of dynamic and stable social and economic progress. Innovation technologies and small-scale business development, re-equipment of processing sector enterprises are among major priorities.
Over 1000 participants will work at the Forum, including top leaders of Federal government and authorities, State Duma deputies, members of Federal Assembly, head of the federal administrative and municipal units, representatives of Embassies and Trade Missions of the leading foreign countries, officials of Russian and International Financial institutions.
Plenary meeting, «round-table» discussions, bilateral meetings, information investment projects exhibition, agro-industrial exhibition «Gifts of Kuban» are planned within the Third International Economic Forum «Kuban-2004». «Days of Germany in Russia» where products of Germany companies will be exhibited as well as cultural program and some other events are arranged by Krasnodar Region administration jointly with German partners within the Forum. We invite you to participate in the work of International Economic Forum «Kuban-2004» which will be held in Sochi from 6th till 9th of October, 2004.
