Krasnodar Region possesses a high investment potential and by investment climate rating is within ten leading regions of Russia. By the volume of investments Kuban occupies the leading place among the regions of the South Federal District and by the scale of housing construction it occupies the sixth place in Russia.

In 2003 70.4 billion RUR have been invested into the real sector of economy, the major part of them came from own assets of enterprises, borrowed money and money of population.

The competition advantages of the Region, stable political climate and the system of state support operating from 1999 have considerably revived recently the interest of foreign investors and business circles in the Region.

In 2003 242.2 mln US dollars have been invested into the economy of the region including 44% of direct investments. The Region executes investment cooperation with 72 countries of the world. By the volume of attracted capital the most active businessmen in the region come from the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, France, USA, Virgin Islands and Cyprus. Thirty nine branches of foreign legal persons have been opened in the region and over 800 enterprises with foreign investments have been registered in the region.

The main spheres of using the foreign capital are transport, food industry, trade and public catering, timber industry, woodworking and pulp and paper industry and communication. The largest foreign investors in the Region are as follows: Corporation «Shevron-Texico», «tetra Laval Holding GmbH», «Fillip Morris», «Knauf», «Pepsi Cola», «Nestle», «Bonduel», «Klaas», others.

Legal base have been established in the Region, tax privileges and mechanisms of investor assistance are in force. Laws «On state promotion of investment activity in Krasnodar Region», «On State assistance of leasing activity in Krasnodar Region», «On investment tax credit»,have been adopted. They promote the establishment of maximum favorable conditions for all desiring to invest in priority branches of economy of the Region.

TO work along with investors the unified regional investment conducting network has been established. This is the system of support based on the principle of «one wicket» which simplifies the procedure of obtaining permits for construction and coordination.

In the sphere of attracting investments the Region is oriented towards the following priority trends determined by the Program of social-economic development of Krasnodar Region for 2003-2008: agro-industrial, and resort complexes, development of seaports capabilities, modernization of industry, the fuel-power generating complex, etc.

Kuban id open for cooperation with Russian and foreign partners. Large consulting companies operate and in the Region, among them NAPI, Ernst&Young, Pricewaterhause Coopers, Standard&Poor, etc.
Administration of the Region is ready to consider any variants of attraction of finances, advances technologies, managerial experience, it will secure the most favorable regime for the realization of investments projects.

Over 300 enterprises operate in Krasnodar region with the participation of investors from over 70 countries, for example: JSC «Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R», JSC «Blue Stream Pipeline Company», JSC «Sochi Soft beverage Plant «Pepsi Cola», JSC «Kuban Gypsum Knauf», enterprises of the Company «Nestle», JSC «Fillip Morris-Kuban», JSC «Tetra-Pak-Kuban», JSC «Cargill-YUg», JSC «KLAAS», JSC «Bonduel-Kuban», etc.

The share of investors from Kazakhstan amounts to 28,2% of total investments, that of the Netherlands - 19%, USA - 12,3%, Great Britain - 9,9%, France - 7,5%, Cyprus - 6,6%.
