Availability of unique recreation resources provides the development of practically all kinds of tourist and recreation industry.
Kuban is one of the most popular resort-tourist regions of the country. The resort complex is represented by over 1300 sanatoriums and 400 tourist firms capable to accept at a time about 220 thousand people. The services rendered are estimated as 16 billion RUR per year. Krasnodar Region concentrates all major sea resorts of Russia: Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik< Tuapse and Yeysk.
Annual number of vacationers in the Region is over 5 billion people. The unique recreation potential secures the development of practically all kinds of industry of resorts, tourism and recreation - maritime, mountain, mountain skies and balneological.
Extreme tourism is rapidly developing in the Region.
The amount of sanatorium and tourist-excursion services is expanding from year to year. In 2002 these services have been rendered for the amount of 11.8 billion RUR including 73% referring to sanatoriems and 27% to tourist and excursion services.
The largest sanatorium-resort complexes of the Region are as follows: JSC Sanatorium «Krasnaya Talka», JSC Pension «Nadezhda», JSC «Adlerkurort», JSC «Lazurnaya», JSC «Zhemchuzhina» and Sanatorium «Yuzhnoye Vzmorie».
